

According to the work plan of the Public Council for Assistance to Civil Society in Police Reform under the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan for the Sughd Region, with the support of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan and in cooperation with the Public Organization "National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan", in November 2020, meetings were organized in cities and the districts of Khujand, Jabbor Rasulov, Spitamen, Devashtich, Istaravshan, Shakhristan, Zafarobod, Kanibadam, Isfara, Mastchoh, Asht and Bobodjon Gafurov.
The meetings were attended by employees of the internal affairs bodies, members of public councils for promoting civil society in ensuring public order, as well as public activists.
At the meetings, the chairmen of the public councils to assist civil society in maintaining public order in these cities and regions reported to the participants on their activities for nine months.
Also, members of the Public Council for Promoting Civil Society to Police Reform under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Sughd Region and representatives of the Public Organization “National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan” spoke on the topic of expanding cooperation between the police and the public.


It should be noted that within the framework of the police reform strategy, public councils are being created at the departments of internal affairs of cities and districts to promote civil society in maintaining public order and, in cooperation with police officers, contribute to ensuring public order.
