The development of bilateral cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

On April 26, 2018, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel-General of the Militia, Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, met with the Head of the Representative Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency in the Republic of Tajikistan (JICA), Mr. Hideki Tanabe.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of the Interior expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government of Japan for providing technical assistance to the Medical Directorate of the MIA, retraining and training highly qualified personnel, and upgrading the skills of militia officers.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a range of issues of great importance for mutually beneficial cooperation. It was noted that cooperation with colleagues from the countries of the near and far abroad is one of the main tasks of the international activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, especially in the field of joint struggle against international terrorism, religious extremism, drug trafficking, trafficking in human beings and other dangerous types of transnational crime.
In turn, the head of the representative office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency in the Republic of Tajikistan (JICA), Mr. Hideki Tanabe, expressed his willingness to cooperate in the context of combating organized crime and other contemporary threats and challenges.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed their confidence in the development and strengthening of joint cooperation.
