In the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the US Embassy in Tajikistan in the city Norak Khatlon region was opened Center for police cooperation with society.
At opening ceremony of the Center for police co-operation with the public participated First Deputy Minister of Interior Tajikistan major-general of militia Alamshozoda Abdurahmon Alamsho, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USA in Tajikistan, Mrs. Elizabeth Millard, representatives of executive authorities of the city of Norak, personnel DMIA of Norak and members of the public.
In his speech, Deputy Minister of Interior major-general of militia Alamshozoda Abdurahmon Alamsho expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation of the Government Republic of Tajikistan with the US Embassy, and noted that the Center of police co-operation with the community will help to strengthen close cooperation with the population in the fight against crime. Enhanced police cooperation with the community and gain the trust of the population is one of the priorities of the police reform program, and is aimed at preserving the stability and security of citizens.
The event was also made speech by the US Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mrs. Elizabeth Millard and appreciated the attention paid by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the development of cooperation of police officials with the public.
It was noted that the opening of such cooperation with the community police centers will provide opportunity to solve the problems of citizens, and to gain their trust police authorities.
In the course of the event gave speeches representatives of the public the city of Norak and expressed their views on the establishment of such centers.
