
Today, 25.05.2017, the Minister of the interior, lieutenant-general of militia Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro met with the UN Resident Coordinator, the head of the United Nations Development Program, Pratibha Mehta.
First, the Minister of the Interior Ramazon Rahimzoda congratulated Mrs. Pratibha Mehta on her appointment to a responsible position and noted that on January 29, 1992, the UN Security Council at its meeting adopted a resolution on the recommendation to accept the Republic of Tajikistan as a member of the United Nations. Thus, on March 2, 1992 at the 46th session of the UN General Assembly adopted the resolution on admission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN was unanimously.
The accession of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Community of Nations has laid the foundation for the development of its cooperation with UN organizations and institutions.
Tajikistan believes that the role of the United Nations Organization in combating negative phenomena and cooperation in this direction is important.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan actively cooperates with specialized UN organizations, such as UNHCR, UNICEF, and the International Organization for Migration.
In her turn, the UN Resident Coordinator, the head of the United Nations Development Program, Pratibha Mehta, expressed her gratitude to Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda for the warm welcome, and noted that the development of each state depends on peace and stability. The United Nations Organization has always been a supporter of peace and development around the world.
Development and stability are interconnected with each other, in this direction they are always ready to develop cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon issues of cooperation in the sphere of the rule of law, social justice, the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms, including the protection of children and other issues of interest. It was noted about the positive results in the implementation of the project "Transboundary cooperation for achieving sustainable peace and development".
At the end of the meeting the parties expressed interest in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in order to ensure stability and prevent negative phenomena in the region.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and a spirit of mutual understanding.
