The famous Tajik poet Bozor Sobir passed away today, May 1, 2018 (5:00 am Dushanbe time) at the age of 79 in one of the hospitals of Seattle, Washington, where he was being treated during the last one month.
The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon expressed his condolences and deepest sympathy to family and relatives of deceased beloved poet.
The message reads, in particular:
"Bozor Sobir was one of the most patriotic poets who made great efforts in educating a sense of national identity and national pride.
All of Bozor Sobir's works, especially his poetry created during Tajikistan's independence, are filled with patriotism and a sense of national self-awareness.
His memories - the inimitable word of the people's poet Bozor Sobir will forever remain in the memory of present and future generations."
The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has ordered the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the United States of America and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations to transport the body of the poet Bozor Sobir from the US to his homeland and bury him in Dushanbe.
