Forty Four Springs

Chiluchor Chashma (“Forty Four Springs”) is the name of the place located 12 km from the village of Shaartuz Bokhtar, very famous throughout Tajikistan and neighboring Uzbekistan. Here, right at the foot of a small hill, in the middle of a hot desert, five large water springs, breaking up into 39 small springs, beat out from the ground. All sources, merging, form a channel 12 - 13 meters wide, in which a large number of fish is found.

Well, of course, a place like this has its own legend. She tells that the righteous caliph Ali, having seen the dry river Romit, got to Chiluchor Chashma and asked Allah to give water. At the same time, he struck at the foot of a nearby hill, and where his fingers touched the ground, five of the purest springs began to beat.
Since then, Chiluchor Chashma has become a place of pilgrimage. People visiting her perform prayers, ablutions, sacrifices, bathe in the springs. It is believed that the water of 17 sources is healing.
There is also a small hill on the territory of Chiluchor Chashma, on which a small mausoleum rises. It allegedly buried a certain saint named Kambar Bobo, who, according to legend, was the headman of Caliph Ali’s stable. Here are the graves of four more saints, whose names, unfortunately, are unknown.
